Worker Dies After Being Electrocuted at Construction Site

A 49-year-old male construction worker was working at a construction site on a ladder when he was electrocuted and fell off the ladder. The accident occurred at a construction site near 65th Street and Lansdowne Avenue in West Philadelphia. The worker was transported to Lankenau Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police are currently investigating the incident.

Unfortunately, all too often, workers are injured or killed due to the negligence and actions of general contractors, owners, and construction managers. However, injured workers have legal remedies to compensate them for their injuries, or their families for their loved ones’ tragic deaths.

Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky is among the nation’s leaders in construction accident litigation and has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for workers injured at construction sites. Additionally,  the firm has vast experience representing workers who have been tragically electrocuted, which includes recovering a $15.5 million verdict for a member of a tree-removal crew who sustained electrical burns while on the job, a $9 million verdict for a worker who suffered an electrical shock when the loader he was operating came into contact with uninsulated power lines, and a $3 million settlement for two workers who suffered electrical shocks while setting up a scaffolding system at a housing development project.

The attorneys at Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky are available for commentary as the situation develops.
