Woman Killed by Rolling Steel Cylinder Near Pittsburgh Construction Site

A UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital assistant, and mother of three, was tragically killed on May 3, 2024 after being struck by a massive metal cylinder that broke free from a University of Pittsburgh construction project. The cylinder crashed through a chain-link fence and struck the woman who was on the sidewalk. Law enforcement, including OSHA, are investigating the incident.
