A native Philadelphian, Alan J. Borowsky has dedicated his entire professional career to seeking justice on behalf of survivors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. He is licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and has fought for the rights of survivors in state and federal courts from coast to coast. Alan has successfully litigated numerous high-profile sexual abuse and sex trafficking cases against some of the largest and most well-known giants within the hospitality and rideshare industries, religious institutions, and youth development organizations.

Alan is a respected authority in his field, having been featured in both national and international media for his trial advocacy skills and subject matter knowledge. He was quoted by The Independent in a groundbreaking July 2024 exposé on sex trafficking within the hospitality industry. In 2022, Alan was featured on Justice for All TV, where he discussed the myths and facts of sex abuse and sex trafficking, how those cases are litigated, and what America’s corporate citizens and general public can do to identify and prevent sex trafficking. In 2021, Alan was the recipient of American Lawyer Magazine’s Northeast Trailblazer award for his work in civil litigation on behalf of sexual abuse and sex trafficking survivors. Alan was honored by the Lambda Alpha Epsilon Grand Chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association and presented with the Cesare Beccaria Award for outstanding contributions in the field of criminal justice in 2018. Alan has also guest lectured to undergraduate and graduate students in numerous colleges in the Philadelphia area.

Prior to joining Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, Alan worked at a leading nationwide law firm for nearly five years, recovering millions of dollars for survivors of sex abuse and sex trafficking nationwide.

Before entering the private sector in 2019, Alan served the people of Delaware County for nearly ten years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Special Victims Unit of the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office. During that time, Alan prosecuted hundreds of cases involving adult and child sexual assault, domestic violence, online sexual exploitation of children, and homicide. In 2015, Alan had the honor of becoming cross-designated with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. As a Special AUSA, Alan successfully prosecuted federal cases within Project Safe Childhood, an initiative targeting child sexual exploitation and abuse. In 2017, Alan became Chief of Delaware County SVU’s Human Trafficking Unit, during which time he oversaw numerous investigations into human trafficking activity and was on the leading edge of Pennsylvania’s efforts to combat it, scoring the first jury trial conviction under Pennsylvania’s then-new anti-human trafficking law.

Alan earned his B.A. from Lehigh University, magna cum laude, completing an honors degree in Spanish. While at Lehigh, Alan was a two-year team captain and two-time All-American Scholar Athlete as a member of Lehigh’s Division I golf team, honing the competitive edge he brings with him every time he steps into the courtroom. Upon graduation from Lehigh, Alan returned to Philadelphia and earned his law degree from the Drexel University College of Law.
