Michael Pileggi

Catastrophically injured victims need trial attorneys with real courtroom experience. Michael Pileggi has tried more than 50 cases in front of judges and juries in Pennsylvania, argued hundreds of motions, and participated in well over a thousand in-court hearings before various tribunals across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His efforts have earned the respect of judges, and even defense attorneys – who, at the conclusion of their matters against him, have then referred injured victims to him for representation. 

At SMB, Michael’s practice is concentrated primarily in the areas of motor vehicle and premises liability.

Michael has won multiple seven-figure, and countless six-figure awards for clients. He has represented clients with serious brain injuries, neck fractures and spinal cord traumas; those who have been abused by healthcare workers; a family of a child drowning victim; a family of a wrongly discharged patient which resulted in death; those injured due to insufficient corporate policies and procedures, medical mistakes, deficient security at places and events, failures to supervise employees and agents, and animal attacks.

When representing clients, Michael employs a maximum-pressure litigation style.  Seriously injured victims do not have the luxury of waiting patiently, with their hands folded, hoping for just compensation. When an insurance company is not willing to fairly compensate, in a timely manner, you need an attorney who will break through the logjam. Michael utilizes aggressive motions practice and an always-attack approach to force insurance companies closer to their day of reckoning in front of a jury.

Prior to representing Plaintiffs in personal injury cases, Michael served as an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County, where he tried felony and misdemeanor criminal cases. He has successfully tried sexual assault and rape cases, robberies, firearms violations, and drug offenses.

He has interned for the Hon. Judge Timothy J. Savage in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Hon. Judge Linda Cartisano in the Court of Common Pleas for Delaware County.

Born and raised in Delaware County, Michael is a former All-Catholic and All-Delco athlete and powerlifting champion. When he is not working, you can find him enjoying his Italian grandmother’s cooking and appreciating the good company of family and friends who have been essential to his successes.
