Samuel A. Haaz

Associate

Samuel A. Haaz’s practice is focused on fighting for victims of negligent and criminal acts. He represents victims suffering from life-altering physical injuries, psychological trauma, sexual abuse, and the immeasurable loss of a family member. Sam has dedicated his career to achieving outstanding results for his clients who are often experiencing the most traumatic and stressful event in their lives. He handles cases involving workplace accidents, dangerous products, vehicle accidents, sexual abuse, and other preventable tragedies. Sam is a Philadelphia native and a second-generation Philadelphia trial lawyer.

Prior to joining Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, Sam was a prosecutor representing victims of violent crimes at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. There, he gained extensive experience supervising criminal investigations, and litigating complex jury trials to verdict. Sam was elevated to the Hate Crimes Task Force where he investigated and tried the most sensitive cases involving victims targeted based on race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. Prior to leaving the District Attorney’s Office in 2018, Sam’s relentless efforts from years of investigation resulted in a Philadelphia man being charged with seven homicides.

Sam’s skill and dedication earned him a job at one of the top commercial litigation firms in Philadelphia. There, he further developed his civil litigation skills defending some of the largest employers and businesses in the country in both state and federal courts nationwide. Sam’s experience defending companies in high-stakes civil litigation provided a perspective that he uses to better prosecute injury cases.

Sam graduated cum laude from Bates College, and received his law degree from the Drexel University School of Law in 2012. He lives in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia with his wife and two young boys that he coaches in intramural sports.
