Jordan Howell has dedicated his practice to fighting for victims. He represents catastrophically injured individuals and families who have had loved ones taken from them by inexcusable conduct. A Philadelphia native, Jordan tirelessly fights for injured victims during the most stressful moments in their lives. He is a skilled trial lawyer who handles cases involving workplace accidents, dangerous products, vehicle accidents, and other preventable tragedies.

Prior to joining Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, Jordan honed his trial skills representing victims in the Major Trials unit at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. While there, Jordan was the lead prosecutor in more than a dozen jury trials involving serious felony charges. Jordan was ultimately selected to join the office’s elite Special Investigations Unit, an honor reserved for the top trial attorneys.

Jordan also knows how defendants think and strategize. He has experience defending insurance companies in complex personal injury cases. This experience provides Jordan and his clients with an invaluable perspective and insight as to how insurance companies defend injury cases. Jordan uses that experience to anticipate the defenses of the insurance companies.

Jordan has achieved multiple positive results on behalf of his clients, including:

  • $23,000,000 settlement in a multi-fatality motor-vehicle accident involving a commercial vehicle in Pennsylvania.
  • $16,250,000 settlement against the owners of an apartment building following a devastating fire. Jordan and the team at SMB uncovered violations that SMB argued would have prevented this deadly fire. The Defendants denied liability. The case successfully resolved at mediation.
  • $10,210,625 settlement against several defendants resulting from a tragic construction accident on a bridge project in Pennsylvania. Jordan and the team at SMB represented the family of an iron worker who was killed when the operations on the bridge caused a burst of hydraulic oil to strike the worker in the chest. The blast force knocked the worker off his working platform that was located over 100 feet above the bridge’s surface. The worker tragically fell to his death. The settlement has been put into a trust to benefit the worker’s daughter.
  • $3,650,000 settlement for a worker who tripped over unguarded power cords at a facility in Pennsylvania.
  • $3,000,000 settlement on behalf of the family of a worker who died after tripping and falling while working on the construction of a skyscraper in Philadelphia.
  • $2,750,000 settlement for a construction worker who was injured during a crane disassembly process when a jib section swung and knocked him off a ladder.
  • $2,175,000 settlement after an industrial facility accident in Delaware involving burns from an explosion.
  • $2,000,000 settlement for an ATV rider that was injured in a collision.
  • $1,750,0000 settlement on behalf of a tractor trailer driver who was injured after falling from a vehicle cab.
  • $1,700,000 settlement against a Pennsylvania Police Department after a speeding police officer crashed into an SUV driven by a woman who was on her way home from work. Shortly after the accident, Jordan and the team at SMB downloaded the data from the police officer’s computer which revealed the officer was driving more than double the speed limit. The police officer claimed he was responding to an emergency with lights and sirens on but Jordan was able to uncover evidence proving the officer was not in fact responding to an emergency. The woman suffered a neck and back injury that prevented her from returning to work as a certified nursing assistant.
  • $1,500,000 settlement on behalf of a forklift operator in Philadelphia who was injured when attempting to load a pallet into a box truck.
  • $1,380,000 settlement for the family of a 63-year-old intellectually disabled woman who died after choking on a sandwich at a licensed facility.

Jordan is a graduate of Temple University and he received his law degree from the Drexel School of Law. In 2021, Jordan further honed his trial skills at Temple University Beasley School of Law by earning his LL.M. (Masters of Law) in Trial Advocacy. Jordan graduated with Honors.

Jordan lives in South Philadelphia where he enjoys being part of the community as a youth basketball referee and baseball umpire.
