John E. Savoth To Deliver Inaugural Remarks As Incoming Chancellor Of The 12,500-Member Philadelphia Bar Association Dec. 6

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — John E. Savoth, Of Counsel to Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky PC, will deliver inaugural remarks as the incoming Chancellor of the 12,500-member Philadelphia Bar Association at the Association’s Annual Meeting Luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at noon in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt at The Bellevue, Broad and Walnut Streets.

Savoth will officially become Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association on Jan. 1, 2012.

A graduate of Dickinson College and Widener University School of Law, Savoth began his legal career as a law clerk for the late Hon. James T. McDermott of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, thereafter working for his legal mentor, Bill Keller, at Keller & Associates, which later became Keller & Savoth. In 1996, he formed the law offices of John E. Savoth, and in 2003 merged practices with William Fedullo to create Fedullo & Savoth.

In 2007, Savoth became Of Counsel to Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky PC. He focuses his practice on personal injury matters including construction, motor vehicle, and premises and products liability.

At the Bar Association, Savoth has served in numerous leadership roles including chair of the Board of Governors, secretary and assistant secretary of the Association, chair of the Young Lawyers Division and co-chair of the Bench-Bar & Annual Conference, as well as chair or member of various committees. He is a member of the Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention and a trustee of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, as well as a charter member of its Andrew Hamilton Circle. He served as Vice Chancellor in 2010 and is now completing a one-year term as Chancellor-Elect.

Among his other service roles, Savoth is a member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP) and the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia.

Also taking place at the Annual Meeting Luncheon will be the presentation of The Fidelity Award Presented By PNC Wealth Management to attorney Daniel-Paul Alva of Alva and Associates. Alva is being recognized for his lifetime commitment to the legal profession including mentoring numerous young lawyers.
