Inwood Construction Tragedy: Crane Collapse Leaves Five Injured
On Tuesday afternoon, five construction workers were seriously injured after a crane and/or boom lift collapsed on a construction project on 9th Avenue in Inwood, Manhattan. The day was marred by major wind and rains, potentially contributing to the collapse.
The FDNY and other first responders were on site, and the Department of Buildings has also been called in to continue the investigation. The Department of Buildings had previously issued two safety violations for the project, including one violation in December where a construction worker was injured.
