Three Dead in Boise, Idaho Structure Collapse
A building collapse near the Boise Airport caused the tragic deaths of three people and injured at least nine more—some in critical condition. The partially constructed building and nearby crane were adjacent to the Jackson Jet Center, part of the Boise Airport Hanger Construction Site. After the metal structure collapsed, first responders came immediately to a hectic scene. The scene is still being evacuated. The exact cause of the collapse has not been revealed.
This is yet another example of why owners, managers, builders, engineers, and inspectors must adhere to strict construction standards—especially during the building phase. SMB has represented catastrophically injured clients when buildings have collapsed, including the Davenport, Iowa apartment collapse in 2023, the Surfside Condo collapse in Miami in 2021, the Market Street collapse in Philadelphia in 2013, and the Tropicana garage collapse in New Jersey in 2003.
