Dump Truck Runs Over and Kills Bicyclist in Philadelphia
The fatal bicycle accident occurred on Thursday morning in Southwest Philadelphia.
At approximately 8:15 a.m., on Thursday, May 8, a 50-year-old man riding his bicycle eastbound on Baltimore Avenue was struck and killed by a dump truck. The incident took place near the 1000 block of Cobbs Creek Parkway, as the truck attempted to turn right onto southbound 58th Street. Tragically, the bicyclist, who was riding in the same direction, became lodged underneath the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident is currently under active investigation by local law enforcement authorities.
