6 injured in possible explosion at Newark Housing Authority apartment building

A massive explosion tore through a New Jersey Housing Authority apartment complex on Friday night, injuring at least 6 residents.

One resident was reported to have suffered catastrophic burn injuries. Though the cause is still under investigation, a neighborhood activist reported to the media that residents had been complaining about the smell of gas for months. New Jersey’s PSEG gas company crews were on scene as well to turn off and investigate any gas leaks.
