Plaintiff was one of four fraternity brothers traveling home to Philadelphia following a spring break trip. Plaintiff was seat belted in the front passenger seat when the car suffered a rear wheel blowout and lost control. The car crashed and rolled over. Plaintiff was rendered quadriplegic and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury.

The team at Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky proved that the tire that blew out was defective in its design. They further established that the SUV had inadequate vertical stability, making it subject to rolling over in a crash instead of sliding out. The case settled for $21 million.
