$18.22 Million Jury Verdict for Fatal Boom Lift Tipover

A New Castle County Delaware jury returned verdicts totaling $18,228,409 in a construction accident case.

David Kwass and Michael Zettlemoyer represented the estates of brothers Jovan and Bryan Maldonado, laborers on a telecom construction crew, who were killed when their boom lift tipped over in high winds as they attempted to change out antennas affixed to the side of a water tower in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

The Hon. Francis J. Jones presided over the seven-day trial, and the case was defended by Marc Perry and R. Joseph Hrubiec of Post & Schell and by Walter O’Brien and Krista Shevlin of Weber Gallagher.
