Tragic Construction Accident Claims the Life of a 48-Year-Old Worker in South Philadelphia
Tragedy struck the day after Thanksgiving at a South Philly construction site while repairs to an elevator shaft were being made. A 48-year old man was working in an elevator shaft at a commercial warehouse on Wolf Street in South Philadelphia when he fell 20 feet down the shaft. He suffered severe trauma to his head and was later pronounced dead at the scene. OSHA is investigating and is trying to determine exactly what led to this seemingly preventable death.
