Statement Correcting Published Reports that Complaint Against Head of State Board of Probation and Parole Has Been Dismissed

Philadelphia, PA (December 21, 2012) – A published report on www.philly.com earlier today erroneously stated that a Federal court had dismissed the civil Complaint (2:12-cv-06373-HB) recently filed in U.S. District Court on behalf of slain Philadelphia Police Officer Moses Walker, Jr. The Complaint named several defendants, including the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole (PBPP).

The fact is that not only has the lawsuit not been dismissed, we have yet to file our response in opposition to the Motion to dismiss filed by the PBPP. Be assured that on behalf of the Walker family, we will vigorously oppose the attempt by the outgoing Pennsylvania Attorney General to have the case dismissed as it relates to the actions of the Chairman of the PBPP, and will oppose any other efforts to prevent this case from being tried before a jury in Federal court.
