SEPTA Train Collides with Car in Delaware County

A SEPTA train collided with a car attempting to cross the railroad tracks near the Fernwood station on Wednesday afternoon. Two passengers in the car were injured, but the extent of their injuries is not yet known. It is unclear if any of the SEPTA passengers were injured.

The Media-Wawa regional rail line was traveling inbound towards the city when the accident happened. It is unclear why the car was attempting to cross the tracks at the time of the accident. Train service was temporarily suspended while emergency crews cleared the heavily damaged vehicle from the scene.

Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky is one of the Nation’s leading injury firms in train-related litigation and has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for victims of these accidents, including crashes and derailments. This includes the Philadelphia Amtrak derailment and the Montana Amtrak derailment. SMB attorneys are available to provide comments as this situation develops.
