Fatal Tour Bus Crash Near Lake George Claims One Life, Leaves Dozens Injured

At least one person was killed and many more were injured when a tour bus left the roadway and overturned while driving in the southbound lane of Interstate 87, near Lake George, NY. The crash occurred on Friday January 5, 2024 at around 12:49 p.m.

It was reported that many passengers were severely injured, including one passenger who was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in critical condition. At least 12 others were taken to Glens Falls Hospital. The Skyway Coach Line tour bus involved in the accident began its trip in Montreal, Canada and was travelling to New York City when the crash occurred. 23 people were on board at the time of the crash.

A preliminary investigation is underway to determine the causal factors that may have played a role in the accident, which may include an impact with another vehicle on the roadway, driver error, or a mechanical failure, among others.
