Baltimore Key Bridge Collapses After Ship Collision

Rescue workers in Baltimore are currently searching for as many as seven people after a major bridge in the city’s port was struck by a cargo ship early Tuesday, officials said. It is an “active search and rescue” situation, the city’s fire chief said. Video footage appeared to show a cargo ship colliding with a support beam, causing the bridge to break and fall into the Patapsco River. Multiple vehicles were on the bridge at the time.
