Anwar is a zealous attorney who fights for patients, families, and their loved ones who have suffered a catastrophic injury. Anwar handles a range of personal injury cases involving wrongful death, medical malpractice, birth injury, delayed diagnosis of cancer, spinal cord injury, workplace accident, and burn and explosion cases. A Philadelphia native, Anwar has acquired a reputation for being a genuine, yet tough and tireless advocate when representing victims in the Philadelphia community and throughout Pennsylvania in cases against large corporations, hospitals, and insurance companies.
Prior to joining Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, Anwar refined his skills handling catastrophic injury cases for plaintiffs, successfully recovering tens of millions of dollars for victims of medical malpractice and sexual abuse. Additionally, Anwar’s dedication to helping vulnerable individuals resulted in winning a multimillion-dollar recovery for a victim of wrongful incarceration who was Pennsylvania’s then-longest-ever exoneree.
Practice Areas
Anwar’s journey began in Southwest Philadelphia as the youngest of five children, and from a very young age, he valued the same hard work and perseverance he demonstrates today in representing his catastrophic injury clients. He attended Philadelphia public schools before graduating from West Chester University and Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey, where he is still actively involved. Anwar is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his law practice, Anwar actively engages in his community. He has served for several years in various roles on the executive board of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, an organization founded in 1950 to address the professional needs and development of Black lawyers in the city. Additionally, Anwar spent several years prior to law school volunteering with a local non-profit organization focused on servicing underprivileged populations in Philadelphia.
