$11 Million Verdict for Mechanic Injured by Industrial Mower
David Kwass and Michael Zettlemoyer achieved an $11 million jury verdict for a mechanic injured on the job by an industrial mower.
The victim, a Delaware Department of Transportation mechanic, suffered serious injuries caused by a defective mower. The lawsuit, filed in 2023, alleged that Alamo, the manufacturer, negligently designed and tested the mower, ultimately compromising user safety.
The $11 million verdict includes $7 million in damages for the injured worker and $4 million for his wife’s loss of consortium claim. The parties also reached a confidential high-low agreement before the jury rendered its decision.
The case highlights a growing trend of juries holding manufacturers accountable for unsafe product designs.
