Robert “Bob” Zimmerman represents catastrophically injured victims of defective products and in workplace and construction accidents in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to his admission in those states, he has gained national recognition for his representation of the seriously injured, and has been asked to handle cases in courts in Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Washington. He has successfully handled high-profile cases against national and international defendants and has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in recoveries for his clients.

Bob has been featured prominently in the national and international media (Including in Canada, England and Japan) for his efforts on behalf of his clients, including in print publications (New York Times, Washington Post, New York Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, The Legal Intelligencer) as well as in broadcast (CNN, Good Morning America, ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, NewsNation). For twelve straight years between 2012 and 2023, Bob has been selected by his peers as a “Rising Star” (2012-2021) and a “Super Lawyer” (2022-2023) in Philadelphia Magazine’s Super Lawyers edition. His results include a $124 million dollar verdict in an assault and battery case in Montgomery County, a significant confidential settlement mid-trial arising from an escalator derailment at the former Giants Stadium that seriously injured 8 individuals, and a $24 million dollar settlement mid-trial in a product liability action against an industrial machine manufacturer.

Bob has hands-on experience with the tools and equipment used by the workers he represents. He is a Certified Aerial Lift Operator, Forklift Operator, Crane Operator, Rigger, and Signalman. Bob has also completed the OSHA 10 hour workplace safety course, has taken courses in Architectural Drawings, and is certified in the use of Automated External Defibrillators and CPR.

Bob is a graduate of King’s College, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he was a member of the Mu Kappa Tau Honor Society and student government, and was the basketball team’s play-by-play radio broadcaster. He is a board member of the college’s Philadelphia alumni association.

Bob holds a law degree from the Villanova University School of Law (2008), where he served a judicial externship in the Civil Division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and was a member of various legal interest groups. As a member of Villanova’s Civil Justice Clinic, he was authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to represent clients who could not afford to hire attorneys in civil lawsuits while he was still in law school. Robert clerked during law school for one of Philadelphia’s major civil defense litigation firms before joining Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky in the summer of 2007.

In May 2011, Bob graduated from the nationally ranked LL.M. (Master’s of Law) in Trial Advocacy Program at the Temple University Beasley School of Law. He serves as a Lecturer and Judge Instructor for the program.

Bob is a leader among the Pennsylvania legal profession and is a board member of both the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association (PTLA) and Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ). He is a member of the Executive Committee of PAJ that is tasked with decision making responsibilities for the organization, and is a cabinet member of PTLA. He previously was elected to the Philadelphia Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Divisions Executive Committee, where he served a three-year term and was Treasurer of the Executive Committee in 2015. He is a past President of the Future Leaders Section of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Zimmerman has lectured and presented dozens of times at legal conferences and law schools, including at Temple University School of Law, Widener School of Law, and Villanova Law School, and to local, statewide, and national audiences at legal seminars. He was the co-chair of the 2018 Philadelphia Bar Association’s Bench Bar, an annual event that offers continuing legal education to lawyers and Judges who practice in Philadelphia County.

Bob was raised in Northeast Philadelphia and currently resides in Center City Philadelphia.
