One Dead, One Injured in a Massive Explosion at a Vaping Supplies Distributor in Clinton Township, Michigan

A massive explosion at a vaping supplies distributor rocked Clinton Township, Michigan on Monday evening which claimed the life of a 19-year-old man and injured a firefighter. Debris from the explosion, including canisters of butane and nitrous oxide, has been recovered as far as two miles from the explosion site. Authorities indicated the building was not approved for the storage of explosive materials, including butane, nitrous oxide, and lighter fluid which had been located in the facility.

Fires continue to flare up and re-ignite at the explosion site. Authorities warn that canisters could still be active, and if found, should not be touched and reported to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office at 586-469-5502. The cause of the explosion and explosive materials at the facility remains under investigation.
