Brian D. Rosenthal is Of Counsel
to Saltz, Mongeluzzi, Barrett & Bendesky and has a
history of noteworthy results at the local, state and
federal levels in complex medical
malpractice, products
liability, personal injury, wrongful detention and
criminal defense cases.
His successes include significant
verdicts in two Federal civil
rights cases and a $2.3 million jury award in Montgomery
County, Pennsylvania - the only successful plaintiff's
medical malpractice verdict in the suburban Philadelphia
County in 2004.
Mr. Rosenthal is a 1974 magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa
graduate from the University of Pennsylvania and a 1977
graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. He brought
to the private sector invaluable trial experience handling
high profile cases - including homicide prosecutions -
for five years as an Assistant District Attorney for the
City of Philadelphia. His court admissions include:
- Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- United States District Court, Eastern District of
Pennsylvania
- United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit
Mr. Rosenthal is an active member of the American, Pennsylvania
and Philadelphia Bar Associations where he has served
on numerous key committees. He is also a member of the
Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Association
of Trial Lawyers of America, a former Settlement Master
of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and teaches
Torts and Criminal Law as an Adjunct Professor at Peirce
College in Philadelphia.
For the last 22 years, Mr. Rosenthal has earned an “AV”
rating by Martindale-Hubbell as a result of confidential
polling by his peers. This rating indicates that he has
acheived the highest level of both legal ability and ethical
standards, and is awarded only to a very small percentage
of lawyers.
Long involved in community and government affairs in
Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania,
Mr. Rosenthal is a former elected member of the Board
of Commissioners. He is credited with reviving and enhancing
the Township's recreation program and modernizing its
police force. Mr. Rosenthal was the Founder of Lower Merion
Little League, served as President for many years and
remains an active Board Member and is Chairman of its
Long-Range Planning Committee. His tireless civic efforts
and dedication to being the consummate "good neighbor"
are memorialized with the Brian D. Rosenthal Award, presented
annually to the outstanding community volunteer.
Now, a resident of Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, Pa., his record of public service and commitment to the community was recognized by the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors by his appointment to the Township Parks and Recreation Committee. He serves as the elected Chairman of that Committee.
He is also a former Trustee of the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, serving
for more than two decades. A resident of Lower Merion,
Mr. Rosenthal is married to Amy Rosenthal and together
they have six children.
