Robert Zimmerman joined SMBB as an Associate following graduation from Villanova University Law School in 2008. However, he was hardly a novice in the law when he joined the Firm's legal team having previously served two internships - first with a corporate defense firm and then with SMBB. He also had the opportunity to represent clients in actual civil cases as part of Villanova's highly-regarded Civil Justice Clinic.
David L. Kwass, a Partner at the Firm, says Mr. Zimmerman displays a natural passion for SMBB's approach as trial attorneys. "Bob came to SMBB with an extraordinary respect for the plight of the victim and the need for not just skilled counsel, but for a compassionate advocate." Mr. Zimmerman works closely with Mr. Kwass and other members of his practice group that represents victims in a wide range of cases including catastrophic construction site accidents.
A Philadelphia native, Mr. Zimmerman is a graduate of Chestnut Hill Academy preparatory school and King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania (where he handled play-by-play of basketball games on the college radio station.) At Villanova Law School, besides participating in the Civil Justice Clinic, he served a judicial externship with Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Frederica Massiah-Jackson, and was a member of various legal interest groups including the Pro Bono Society and the Child Advocacy Law Association. His professional affiliations include admission to the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, and membership in the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.
