Andrew R. Duffy focuses his practice
at Saltz, Mongeluzzi, Barrett & Bendesky on complex
civil litigation involving worksite accidents, products
liability, premises
liability, medical
malpractice, tractor-trailer accidents and other catastrophic
personal injury cases.
Mr. Duffy is among a select group of attorneys—including
two colleagues at SMBB—to be chosen by his peers
as a "Rising Star" in the area of plaintiff
personal injury practice in a special Pennsylvania
Superlawyers edition of Philadelphia Magazine.
While now exclusively representing victims, Mr. Duffy
has significant prior trial experience as a defense attorney
with a leading Philadelphia firm and as a military attorney
in the United States Navy. He believes this defense perspective
is invaluable in helping to prepare and present cases
on behalf of plaintiffs at trial.
He has a distinguished service record, serving as a
senior criminal defense attorney for the Navy Judge Advocate
General's Corps (JAG Corps). While attaining the rank
of Lieutenant, Mr. Duffy was twice presented the Navy
Achievement Medal by the Secretary of the Navy. The New
York City Bar Association also presented him its Award
for Trial Advocacy in recognition of his trial skills.
Mr. Duffy is dedicated to helping colleagues and aspiring
lawyers excel at their profession. He instructs law students
and practicing lawyers on trial advocacy and litigation
strategy at Temple University and Villanova University
Schools of Law. He is a National Institute of Trial Advocacy
faculty member and volunteers his time to judge other
attorneys for the masters of trial advocacy program at
Temple Law School.
He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association,
the American Trial Lawyers' Association, the Pennsylvania
Trial lawyers' Association, and the Philadelphia Trial
Lawyers' Association. He is admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania
and New Jersey.
Mr. Duffy is a cum laude graduate of University of Dayton
Law School and holds a Master's of Law degree with honors
from Temple University Law School.
