PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 28, 2017) - As expressed in
court today, our clients have been significantly traumatized and
continue to suffer - to their core - by the "horrific violation of
their privacy by the Penn Health System, its doctors, and former
clinical Nurse James Close," stated Robert J. Mongeluzzi,
of Saltz, Mongeluzzi, Barrett & Bendesky, PC, following today's
sentencing in Bucks County Court of Common Pleas of the former Penn
Medicine dermatology center nurse.
Mr. Mongeluzzi, whose firm represents two of the victims who
were secretly and invasively photographed by Nurse Close during
their treatments, said with the conclusion of the sex-crimes
prosecution, "we turn our focus to ensuring that all those
responsible for failing to protect our clients from injury are held
fully accountable."
Adam J. Pantano, of SMBB, said the firm's clients provided
compelling victim-impact statements at the proceeding. He
added, "There is no question that these women were and
remain severely traumatized by
the repulsive actions of James Close and Penn Medicine.
He violated them when they placed their trust in him and Penn
Medicine as their caregivers. They want to make sure that what
happened to them cannot happen again."
