Attorneys Tom Kline and Robert Mongeluzzi to Hold June 2nd News Conference Regarding April 3, 2016 Amtrak Train 89 Fatal Derailment Near Chester, PA

Philadelphia PA (June 1, 2016) – Trial attorneys Tom Kline, Esq., of Kline & Specter, P.C., and Robert J. Mongeluzzi, Esq., of Saltz, Mongeluzzi & Bendesky, P.C., will hold a press conference tomorrow regarding the Sunday morning, April 3, 2016 Amtrak Train 89 crash that killed two veteran Amtrak workers operating rail-maintenance equipment on a track near Chester, Pennsylvania.

The attorneys, whose firms jointly represent the family of one of the two-member track crew, also represent victims in the federal Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) resulting from the May 12, 2015 Amtrak Train 188 fatal derailment just outside Center City Philadelphia. Combined they represent 32 victims – including two death claims – in that consolidated litigation. Both Mr. Kline and Mr. Mongeluzzi serve on the Plaintiffs’ Management Committee in the Train 188 litigation.

Tomorrow’s news conference will be held at 11 a.m., at SMB, 1650 Market St., One Liberty 52nd Floor.

Mr. Kline stated, “We will report on our efforts on behalf of the family that has asked our firms to obtain justice in the name of Joe N. Carter, Jr., who dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his employer and co-workers.”

Mr. Mongeluzzi added, “Many troubling questions exist, starting with how a scheduled train traveling at 106 mph was not notified of work being performed on the tracks ahead, why the workers weren’t notified of the approaching train, and why automatic technologies were not in place to prevent this disaster?”
