(New York - December 19, 2016) - Robert J. Mongeluzzi, Esq., of Saltz, Mongeluzzi, Barrett & Bendesky, P.C., is now representing Danielle and Peter Ambrose whose one and two-year-old daughters were fatally scalded on December 7th when the radiator ruptured in their Hunts Point apartment unit, Mr. Mongeluzzi's firm announced today.

"The Ambroses are grief stricken by the tragic loss of their precious daughters but deeply appreciative to the public for its support," said Mr. Mongeluzzi. "Danielle and Peter have asked us to do everything possible to find out how this tragedy occurred and to ensure that in the future other families aren't forced to endure this type of suffering in preventable tragedies like this."

Mr. Mongeluzzi and his team of attorneys and forensic experts look forward to reviewing all relevant records and physical evidence as part of their representation. "We have handled similar catastrophes over the past several decades," he explained, "and we will use every investigative and litigation tool at our disposal to get to the truth on behalf of the Ambrose family, friends, and people of New York. There is no excuse for this type of abysmal building maintenance, which threatens the safety of everyone in apartment buildings like this," Mongeluzzi added.

Also working with the Ambrose family, and associating with SMBB in this litigation, will be Philadelphia-based attorney Chad Boonswang. Mr. Boonswang said, "Everyone that knows Danielle and Peter, who came to New York from Maine in search of a better life for their family,  knows them as gentle, loving, creative individuals whose whole universe revolved around their beautiful little girls."

The Ambroses, through the lawyers, extended their deep appreciation to all those who've shared condolences since the incident. "We are touched by the outpouring of love and support from literally Maine to New York and around the country. And we are stronger knowing people join us in mourning the loss of our daughters and share our desire to do whatever is possible to ensure that no other family can ever experience this kind of unimaginable pain," they said. The parents also expressed their appreciation to all those who continue to respect their requests for privacy as they grieve and prepare for the funeral later in the week in their native Maine.

In addition to being licensed to practice law in New York, Mr. Mongeluzzi also practices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Philadelphia-based SMBB is one of America's leading personal injury law firms. Among the firm's founders, Mr. Mongeluzzi's trial practice exclusively represents victims injured or killed in catastrophic incidents including but not limited to lethal explosions at residential, industrial, and constructions sites, collapses of buildings under construction or during demolition, office tower crane and other types of heavy industrial equipment failures, and railroad disasters - as the result of reckless, negligent conduct by responsible parties and equipment manufacturers. Mr. Mongeluzzi and his partners, Andrew R. Duffy and Jeffrey P. Goodman currently represent the plaintiffs in connection with the July 4, 2012 sinking in Oyster Bay of the 34-foot yacht, the Kandi Won, in which drowned three children drowned.  Mr. Mongeluzzi and Mr. Goodman are plaintiffs' counsel in the fatal Philadelphia Salvation Army thrift store collapse, which killed seven people, and is in its fourth month of trial.  Mr. Mongeluzzi is a member of the plaintiffs' management committee in the fatal Amtrak Train 188 Multidistrict Litigation, and was co-lead counsel in the largest recovery ($101 million) of a construction accident case in American history. Mr. Mongeluzzi is a New York native and graduate of the Fordham University School of Law.
