David L. Kwass is a personal
injury lawyer who focuses on cases involving
construction accidents, crane accidents, aerial lift
accidents, equipment tipover accidents, electrical accidents,
workplace falls, recreational products and liquor
liability.
Mr. Kwass' passion for workplace safety and safe product
design has resulted in more than 50 separate verdicts
and settlements in excess of $1 million for Saltz Mongeluzzi
Barrett & Bendesky clients, including:
- $13.9
million settlement for a worker who was severely burned in a
plasma explosion in the motor control center at asphalt plant

$8.9 million settlement for a worker who suffered a
massive brain injury when a portable trailer fell on his head
during an axle repair
- $4.5
million settlement for a PECO gas repairman
run over by a co-worker operating a backhoe with a disabled back-up
alarm
Education, Training and Experience
Mr. Kwass is an honors graduate of Haverford
College and holds a master's degree from Georgetown University. He
earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law
in 1992. Mr. Kwass is also an honors graduate of the
nationally ranked LL.M. (Master's of Law) in Trial
Advocacy program at the Temple University Beasley School of
Law. Now an adjunct professor of law with the Temple Master's
of Law program, Mr. Kwass also serves as a judge for mock
trials and mentors Temple's trial teams on construction accident
cases and product liability cases.
Often lecturing lawyers, safety engineers and construction
safety professionals, Mr. Kwass has been a featured speaker
for the Pen-Del-Jersey Chapter of the National Electrical
Contractors Association, the SEAK National Expert Witness
Conference and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Human Factors

In addition, Mr. Kwass writes articles for legal journals. These
include articles on trial techniques for the American Association
of Justice's award-winning magazine, Trial, and on
automotive law for Andrews Litigation Reporter

Professional Service
Mr. Kwass is the co-chairman of the Crane and Aerial Lift
Litigation Group of the American Association for
Justice.
Community Service
Mr. Kwass contributes his services pro bono. Among
such successes: convincing a health insurance company to cover a
procedure it had initially denied as "experimental" for a boy who
needed surgery on both hips in order to walk. The insurer now
provides routine coverage for the femoro-acetabular surgery.
Mr. Kwass also coaches the mock trial team of Strawberry Mansion
High School in Philadelphia. He is also a Lower Merion Little
League commissioner and baseball coach.
